What a show! We met lots of interesting folks while passing out pens, postcards and biz cards. The most exciting part was learning what everyone else did! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and welcome a repeat visit. One lucky winner won a precision cut photo sculpture in a drawing as part of our giveaway contest.

Hi Folks! My apologies for the late post. I've been sewing up loose ends, fixing the website, sculpting photos, working with our sales team... well, you get the picture. I've neglected my main duty of keeping you aware of our happenings here at CheckitOut! Photo. The Women helping Women Business Expo was a huge eye opening event for us. Response to our sculptures was outstanding! Each positive comment gave me the assurance that indeed we are heading in the right direction. Special thanks to all that helped put this show together, I have included some images and a movie of the event. Enjoy!

Coffee and Contacts, LLC: Power Networking for Women is hosting a fund raising event for the Women's Center. As much as I am in touch with my feminine side, I will not be there. Instead you will be greeted by Eileen Batson, Marketing Guru and my wife Lisa Breakiron. I will be in my home studio cutting away hiding behind the curtain "OZ style"! The event is scheduled for June 4th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Shrine Club of Raleigh. There is a $10.00 entry fee which includes a beverage (including wine) and light appetizers. CheckitOut! We Changed Our Name!

As if life isn't exciting enough, we thought we would shake things up a bit more. The past few days have been extremely interesting. In an earlier post I informed you that we are preparing to launch our company June 1st. Our company name was set to be Cut it Out! Precision Cut Photo Sculpture. Last Friday we were told that another company was using the name Cut-it-out. Bummer indeed! A few sleepless nights later trying to re-create a new name... We came up with CheckitOut! Precision Cut Photo Sculpture. Thanks to all my friends that contributed names to the mix, here are a some of my favorites:

Our Friend and Framer, Sean Brady of framecrafters invited us to the Falls River Town Center Spring Fling: Dog Days of Spring organized by Megan Cutter . Thank you Megan for allowing us to squeeze in last minute! The event was great! Lot's of people and nearly 50 interested in photo sculpture. We had a multi-prize give away with the Grand Prize winner getting a single sculpted print double matted and framed! Our second event... moving on and up!

Day One...

Here we go! We are not officially due to open our cyberspace doors until June 1st... No matter. Welcome to CheckitOut! Precision Cut Photo Sculpture where 2D is just not good enough. After years of working with 3D animation, 3D photo sculpture seemed like a good fit. Why? I guess I see photos a little different than most and thought I would share what I was seeing. The process is not new, I've just given it my artistic eye and steady hand to allow the photos to pop into 3D. I look forward to seeing all of your photo submissions destined for sculpting. So far, I have not found one that hasn't been suitable for sculpting although, I am thinking that a close up of a face would look a little strange. So, please use discretion when sending your images. Whether you are keeping our photo sculptures for yourself or giving them as a gift, these one of a kind pieces of art will be a enjoyed by all. A truly unique gift that you helped to create. Enjoy!
